The Ascent is my attempt to make the most versatile, yet simple, 5 watt, 6V6 based amplifier. Think of a beefed up tweed 5F2A in a larger cabinet with a 12” speaker. There’s nothing boxy or choked sounding about this little amp! Pair it with a Celestion AlNiCo Blue speaker, and it sounds incredible. A few features The Ascent has that makes it so versatile are the 3-way gain boost switch and the voice control. The boost switch offers a full range boost, treble boost, or no boost while the voice control gives you access to tight, 60s blackface or raw, 50s tweed tones. As with all Keytone Amps, the Ascent is housed in a custom, hand-built hardwood cabinet that I build myself here in East Tennessee.
